Winter in Holland is heading to Japan
Winter in Holland has already been introduced to the country gently. You can find us in stores such as Tomorrowland and Black and White. However, we never visited the island to say hi. After great interest from the Japanese market during fairs such as Maison&Objet in Paris, we have decided to extend our focus on gaining more visibility in Japan. Early July we will present not only our current 4 collections, but also give a sneak-peek into our newest hand-kitted wallhangings.
Winter in Holland produces high quality Dutch textiles guided by its founder’s vision of forming a sartorial marriage between aesthetics and function. Since its inception, Winter in Holland has focussed on creating exceptional fabrics, both hand-made and hand dyed as well as factory made. Founder Anouk van der Laan, had spend a year teaching women from her neighborhood in Amsterdam to knit. Now she is able to maintain a solid production line for the hand-made collections, produced in The Netherlands. Besides that she recently established a factory production line of woven fabric’s, made on old electric looms and produced in Great Britain.

Japan is known for its affection for craftsmanship, the strive for serenity, integrity and functionality in design. The Japanese understand the significance of quality in products. We appreciate the sense of dexterity and value their interest in the experience a product can offer. At Winter in Holland, we like to indulge you in the softness of a blanket or the great comfort of a cushion. We’d like you to experience the luxury of a whole-hearted knit around your neck during winter times. Winter in Holland strives for the same purity and comfort within a textile as we have seen in Japanese design, only executed with a hint of Dutchness.
Winter in Holland has never deviated from its strive for excellence, and will move forward committed to this ideal. We are excited to start our new adventure and hope to see you soon in Japan.
